Publisher Announces a Limited Time Price Reduction on eBook!

All,
it has been a busy time here in San Diego, meeting with my agent and all the people who I have made appointments with (and of course, my many friends).

The book has launched. YEAH!

And after meeting with Amazon and my Publisher, they and I have decided to help the Seekers book along with a special promotion for the ebook.

For a limited time, the ebook will be available for $4.99 cents. Which is a fantastic deal.

www.TheSeekers.com

The theory goes it is better to sell a lot of books at a lower price than fewer at the higher. And it is based on readers having the greatest access to the book. Both Ideas I heartily endorse.
So you can get the ebook now for the limited time reduced price.

Thought i would through in a couple of pictures of friends I have visited here. One is Duke Underwood, who was my mentor in Film School. Here we are in a small coffee shop in LA.

Another is my friend Tim Millard and I at one of my favorite restaurants.

And of course... the best Mexican food in LA. I have been going their since I was fifteen years old.

I leave back to Fairhope tomorrow evening, to finish my next book, an autobiography of my childhood.

One last thing. Be sure and download the free music track when you purchase the ebook. It is on the website waiting for you.

But officially, TODAY, the marketing campaign starts.WHEW!

The campaign also launches for LeVar Burton and his Reading Rainbow company. Here is the video:

A Few More Days BEfore Marketing Campaign

Have been going back and forth with the manuscript for the book. Finally, had all the typos fixed and found that it would take nine days to have the Kindle version changed.

My web guy, Michael, worked late into the night with me and we got it done.
Loaded onto the KDP site and it is perfect. YEAH! (Thanks Michael)

Received a note from Amazon today that all is ready to go. Received an email from my Agent Bill Gladstone (www.waterside.com) that Amazon is excited about the project!

And, the donation of 5% of sales to Reading rainbow is being well received.

Check out the video:

Will go over my last trip to LA later this week.

In the meantime - two days to release!

Traveled to Los Angeles - Good News From Agent

Took an afternoon flight from Pensecola to San Diego (actually two flights - one stop in Atlanta), and arrived late last night. Delta has to do something about their baggage service - abysmal. Sat at airport an extra hour waiting for bags.

Turns out one of my editors found a number of problems with the Bonus Book, and we are working on it now. Should be ready and loaded in a few days. Not critical. Mostly stylistic.

But the good news. My agent Bill Gladstone (www.waterside.com) cc'd me on the upcoming Amazon program for the book. Will be receiving the details in a few days (I am hoping). Starts August 1st.

While here in California hope to see my friend LeVar Burton and congratulate him personally on the success of his amazing Kickstarter campaign for Reading Rainbow (www.ReadingRainbow.com). Raised $6.5 million dollars to help children all across the nation to read.

The Communities page of The Seekers web site has been substantially updated with people, web sites and books. I invite you to check it out.

The Seekers books are now synched up!

All,
It took a while -- and a number of emails back and forth, but the ebook is now synched up to the print book of The Seekers, Lost Tomb of Alexander on Amazon. Seems they thought the launch date was August 1st... which now it is!

In the meantime, I have had to fix a couple of typo's in the Free Bonus Book (Thanks Elie), and the new version is up on The Seekers web site.

There are a lot more links on the Communities page. Michael was able to load them up yesterday, and they are awesome.

If you can think of any links I may have missed, let me know.

Book is now at Page and Palette (http://www.pageandpalette.com/) for LESS than Amazon is selling it for. If you are local, please get it from there.

Lastly, here is a cool article I posted at Unexplained Archeology. If you haven't been to the web site, I would invite you to visit it (www.UnexplainedArcheology.com)

Here is the article: http://www.unexplainedarcheology.com/oldest-human-poop-reveals-ancient-diet/2918

Who knew poop could reveal so much?

First Day of sales - A slight side trip

Worked out some kinks in the system today

Woke up wondering if I had forgotten anything. And yes, the list I made reminded me of the myriad of items to complete. Still, all seemed smooth.

Opened up my emails and found many from people and friends I had not heard from for years. That is always nice. Duke Underwood, my Dean, mentor and friend from USC Film School, wrote a lovely note congratulating me. And there were many others.

Went to Fairhope brewery before lunch to visit with a coupe of friends - Paul, who works there one day a week, and John, who wanted to get a tour of the place (and is an avid beer drinker -- as well as Paul.)

Below is Paul, giving us the tour

I was able to meet one of the owners, Jim, and he slowed down enough to let us take a picture with my friend John and me

It is ironic for me to walk through a microbrewery, being that I haven't had a beer since I was seventeen. Still, it was interesting, and the process was explained by Paul in very understandable terms. Makes me 'almost' want to try one. Here is their fare...

Back to the book

So I went back and forth today and finally found the link to the ebook of The Seekers, Lost Tomb of Alexander for Amazon. It is now fixed on the sales page. But here it is just in case:

Booked my trip today to go to Los Angeles. Funny how airlines work. One moment, the fare is X, then next Y. I have actually gone on another computer and found the same flights for less. Seems they track what you are looking for and, what, bump up the price? Who knows.

Posting another number of stories tonight on Unexplained Archcology, so go there and have fun reading them.

By for now.

One last thing. I want to congratulate my friend LeVar Burton, Mark Wolfe and their entire team for making history with their Kickstarter campaign for Reading Rainbow.

I will have an announcement later this week about how I am going to help them too.

A Hectic Day

Today is... was the day of the launch of the eBook!

However, I have been unable to find the ebook anywhere. Oh well, the Physical book is available, and sales are already going well. Thank you.

The newsletter goes out tonight. Everyone should have it by the morning.

And... Michael has done an amazing job getting the web site up and running. Only have the communities page to finish out.

Here is the cover for the music CD by Benedikt Brydern http://www.consordino.com/wp/

He is a fantastic musician. You can listen to it free on soundcloud. Just go to the store section of the web site.

I still have about fifteen items that need addressing for the launch, but these are really not that important. I'll get to them when I can.

What is important is that you, friends and family, have been so supportive of me these past few years, and I want to give my heartfelt thanks.

My next call is to find out where the heck the ebook is....

All the best....

Taking the day off... sort of

Well, it is Sunday, and I am taking the day off... sort of.

What I mean by that is stepping back from worrying about the to do list for The Seekers.
That will start again on Monday. Not worrying. Doing. The list will be finished by the 1st.

It is a beautiful day here - although hot... 90+ degrees... but clear and bright.
So I thought I would catch up with friends by phone and email, and like I said, take it easy.

Here are a couple of pictures of the area:

Tomorrow it will be three days until the official launch of The Seekers.

Two cool things happened today

First of all, Tapping the source sent out their newsletter that had an article on my FREE ebook download for The Seekers. I opened my email and there it was.
Tapping the source is an organization that is based on Charles Haanels great work The Master Key.
In fact, it was directly because iof that book, Tapping the Source, that I met my agent, and now friend, Bill Gladstone and his fiance, Gayle Newhouse.
I invite you to check it out (http://tappingthesourcemovie.com/tapping/)

The second thing is my web site is almost finished, thanks to Michael over at http://cyber-theorist.com/. He fixed the Bonus book page and inserted my little video introduction. It came out spectacular.
Now I only have 30 things to finish up before the first of July, the official launch of the book. Check that - 29 things.
If you have downloaded the Bonus book, please send me a note and let me know how you liked it.

MORE NEWS!

Amazon informed my agent Margot that the ebook is proofed and ready to launch on the 1st of July. That is great news, and thanks Margot.

News releases, proofed and edited by Johanna, are on the launching pad.

And finally, my newsletter is being put together this weekend by Lyzah in San Diego, and should be ready to go out Monday.

I guess a lot of cool stuff is going on.

Pictures in from Book Signing

All,
Finally got the pictures from the book signing a week ago loaded. Fun event. One of four local authors, although I think one of them was from New York (Cousin Vinnie).

Anyway, sold a lot of books, and everyone had a good time.
Here is the sign in the window:

However, before I went to the signing, I had my hairs cut (what little there are left...)

Here is Chelsea and me at the salon!

She is really talented.

Now, back to the book signing. It was at Page and Palette (http://www.pageandpalette.com/), a local book store that really helps promote local writers. Great people.
The venue was a little crowded, but the crowds kept drifting though. Here is what my table looked like:

And here is my friend Jody, who stopped by to wish me well.

Wish I had taken more pictures. Anyway, look forward to being there again for the release of The Seekers! (www.TheSeekers.com)

Beautiful Day in the South

Woke up to a beautiful sunny day, the kind of day where you take in a full breath and really feel alive. Perfect day to hunker down and finish the Seekers tasks I have been assigned. Well, almost - I would rather be sitting on the deck reading and writing.

Started a blog for the Seekers site (www.TheSeekers.com). It is
http://theseekersbook.blogspot.com/

Will check in end of day with update.

2 weeks to go before launch

I am swamped by lists for the launch of my book The Seekers (www.theseekers.com
And...
I wake up every morning excited about it!
here is the cover:

Pretty cool, huh?

Craig Attebery designed it. He is the designer of my other covers. Brilliant designer, although he fancies himself an illustrator. He is really my secret weapon...

Will start on the list tomorrow am.

Had a great Fathers day today. Received a wonderful picture from my Daughter Kristie:

Beautiful family...

The web site is almost finished. Will send a link for all of you to view this week.

Had a very productive time in san Diego

Hello all,

Stayed an extra week in San Diego meeting my agent Bill Gladstone (www.waterside.com) and other meetings related to The Seekers (www.TheSeekers.com)

One of the highlights was eating at Bretts BBQ. Although great BBQ, I heard he made friend chicken on Sunday nights so went there to try it out.
It was awesome.
Fried Chicken heaven

After the meal I had to thank Brett.

Me and the happy chef

One of the highlights of going to San Diego is the Encinitas Cafe (www.encinitascafe.com). My favorite food server is Bubbles...

A selfie with Bubbles!

Lastly, I met my buddies at the Neptune Yaught club on... Neptune Ave in Leucadia, of course.

Me Jeff and Pat

Worked on The Seekers. I have a list of 30 something things to get ready before the 1st of July. Whew. I though writing the thing was hard. Next post on the progress of that list.

BTW - flew home American Airlines (I usually take Delta). Very impressed. Good service. Nice people. Better direct flight.

Welcome to my page

Will start posting articles in a little while, but I am so excited my book will be released in the next month!
